§ How I shoot it

What to expect

Family portraits don’t need to be stiff. I’d rather photograph your kids running toward you than your kids pretending to sit still. I’d rather catch your partner laughing than your partner holding a pose. The photos that you’ll actually put on the wall are the ones that look like a Tuesday afternoon at your house — not a catalog shoot.

Sessions run 60 minutes. I bring a plan but hold it loosely. Kids get to be kids. Dogs are welcome. Grandparents are welcome. Your two-year-old who is definitely going to have a meltdown is welcome.

Locations I shoot often

  • Plano — Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, Haggard Park, your front porch
  • Frisco — Adriatica Village, Hope Park
  • McKinney — Historic Downtown, Erwin Park
  • In-home — especially good for toddlers and bad-weather days

Bookings and availability

Weekends fill two to six weeks out. Weekday evenings in spring and fall book fastest. If you have a hard date, reach out early.

§ The process

How we'll work.

  1. 01

    Talk first

We pick a location, a time of day, and an outfit palette. Fifteen minutes on the phone or over email — nothing fancy.

  2. 02

    Shoot the morning

Sixty minutes. Kids are allowed to be kids. Nobody has to hold a fake laugh.

  3. 03

    Gallery in two weeks

Private online gallery with all edited images. Download at full resolution, share with family, print what you love.

§ FAQ

Questions I get often.

How many images do we get?

You get every edited image from the session in a private online gallery. All high-resolution, all downloadable.

Can we do this at our house instead of a park?

Yes. In-home sessions work well for young kids or when the weather is uncooperative. We find the rooms with the best natural light and shoot there.

What do we wear?

Solid colors in the same palette read best. Avoid logos and neon. I send a short style guide after booking that has already taken the guesswork out for dozens of families.

What if the weather is bad?

We reschedule at no cost. North Texas weather rarely cooperates on the first try — flexibility is built into every booking.
